Alan Cumming's eclectic career has spanned roles in commercial film franchises like Spy Kids, X Men and the Smurfs, to independent movies like The Anniversary Party (which he co-wrote, produced, directed and starred in with Jennifer Jason Leigh), Ali Selim's Sweet Land (for which he won an Independent Spirit award as producer) and most recently Travis Fine's Any Day Now (for which he received huge acclaim and a slew of Best Actor awards at film festivals round the country). He has also worked with Stanley Kubrick, The Spice Girls and appeared in modern classics such as Romy and Michele's High School Reunion, Goldeneye and Julie Taymor's Titus.
On stage he won a Tony and every other available award for his Broadway debut in Cabaret, and has also played Romeo, Hamlet and Macbeth (in fact ALL the parts in Macbeth) to huge critical acclaim.
He has also exhibited his photography, Alan Cumming Snaps!; written a novel, Tommy's Tale, with a memoir soon to be released; performed in concert at venues around the world including the Sydney Opera House and released an album, I Bought A Blue Car Today.
He currently appears in the CBS drama The Good Wife.
